Question:
14 days ago I had a brief (2o sec, than we stopped) vaginal and oral unprotected intercourse with a girl that I met here. Now 2 weeks after that I am feeling burning in my penis and also burning while urinating. Also a bit of white discharge is there. I am thinking to go and test for gonorrhea and Chlamydia and probably also other STDs and the girl will go on tests as well. If I have it, how long do you think it will take to treat this?
Please can you point to any good hospital for these tests? I was thinking about Huashan Hospital or STD Hospital on Wuyi Lu. Would you recommend any of those two? Thank you very much; I really appreciate your help. Kind regards.
Answer:
Base on your description, if you prefer to do the test in Shanghai Local Hospital, you can choose follow 3 hospitals.

Positive: City Level Hospital, Cheap cost Negative: No VIP unit, No English Consultation, Short Consultation Period Target patient: Chinese Local Citizen with local insurance
Suggestion: If your friend can speak Chinese, this is good place to go if you not too care about environment. Once you arrive, you can choose either specialist or expert to do the consultation for you. We suggest you choose expert which may cost you a litter bit more but consultation timing can be enough for understanding (base on Chinese Conversion). During the consultation, please point out what test you may think need to do then if the doctor think it is, he or she will prescribe the tests for you. My experience is there is less waiting period in the weekend, so that time will be better for clinic visits.

Huashan Hospital

If you not such familiar with Shanghai Medical System and not know well about Chinese Speaking, I think Huashan hospital can be to good place to go for your first visit. This hospital provides medical service both in Puxi and Pudong with International Clinic division in Pudong Hongfeng Rd. Depends on personal situation, if you do have got expatriate insurance with not such lower coverage limitation, you may choose their international clinic division which just opening in around 3months ago under operated by United Family Hospital. Or choose Puxi VIP clinic for middle volume of medical budget.
Also, there are several other private hospitals in Shanghai have the networking with us that means you may able to through us to have appointment for consultation or the testing service. But you may try one of above medical facilities first to see if there have already provided the medical services which you need.
